One On One 

Mentorship and Internship Program

The Regional Hispanic Institute Lideres One on One Mentorship and Internship program is a Regional program created to increase opportunities for  Youth that will maximize their influence as leaders in the Southern California Region.

We aim to support and nurture young leadership across all sectors of society. We seek to Develop Future Generations of Professionals, Corporate Executives, and Community Leaders.

The RHI is focused on making stronger connections and linking young Leaders with high-ranking officers in a wide-variety of business fields. 

The intent is to allow students to gain valuable insight into what it takes to be successful and begin building a strong network.

About CBI

The CBA is a community where creative minds meet, collaborative spirits flourish, and educational and scholarly contributions thrive.

The RHI and CBA partnership will bring together business enterprises and students to benefit both sides. The CBA will reach out to students, recruit them for the mentorship and  internship program, and work with the CBA student clubs. 

For both students and businesses to benefit, mentorships and  internships must be meaningful. We expect that students will perform work that helps the organizations achieve goals, and this will allow the students to learn and grow in the process. 

The RHCC and CBA will connect with participating business to make sure Mentorships and Internship assignments are appropriate, achievable, and useful.

Together, RHI and CBA will organize, manage, and monitor the operation of the program, student interns, and participating businesses.

Mentorship Internship Program consists of:

* Kick-Off | One on One Mentor Matchmaking | March 21,2013 - Hotel Maya

* One Job Shadow day

* Two additional meetings via Phone, email or one one one.

* Graduation 

   Taking place on July 19th at 5 pm at The Museum of Latin American Art

* Internship  for a student to serve an Internship 

 Requirements for Mentors:

* Must be in Upper management, CEO's, CFO's or Presidents.

* Must Be a Chamber Member to participate as a mentor

*Not a must but please consider having your company offer a paid Internship to help students gain practical experience that solidifies classroom learning and improves career success.

Requirements for Mentees: 

The requirements for a student to participate in this internship program are to:

1.     Be enrolled as either a Business major or a Business minor

2.     Have attained Junior-year status.

3.     Be a member of one of the 12 CBA student organizations.

These requirements assure that students have a foundation level of knowledge to help them be effective as interns and to benefit as much as possible from the experience. Business majors are encouraged to participate in the internship program. Non-CBA students can enroll in a Business minor, so students from across the university can also participate as interns. CBA student clubs help develop interpersonal and leadership skills that are applicable in internships, and club memberships are not limited to CBA students. Being part of CBA student clubs enhances what non-CBA students gain from Business minors. CBA student clubs will be important in sustaining the internship program by providing continuity over time and by informing members about internships every year.
